”Central Flinders Highlights” a very full day seeing all the highlights!
This tour runs for approximately 8 hours - enjoy the National Park gorges - and then head north to Parachilna and Glass gorge - what a full day!
We spend the day looking at the very best of the Central Flinders Ranges. We explore the Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park and then further north.
We will travel along the Bunyeroo Scenic Drive – one of the most scenic in the region – and enjoy an abundance of wildlife Red kangaroos, Western Grey kangaroos, Euros as well as some spectacular bird life and possibly lizards. We also visit the location of a colony of the rare Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby – and we enjoy views at the Razorback Lookout.
Next it’s onto the Brachina Geological Trail to learn about the ancient geology and agricultural history while enjoying beautiful views and stunning rock formations and stopping at points of interest along the way. We include a visit to the Aroona Valley where the famous artist Hans Heysen stayed in the 1920’s and 30’s.
We then head further north along the Parachilna Gorge, the Glass Gorge and take a visit to the old copper mining town of Blinman. On our return we will call into the Stokes Hill Lookout and other points of interest.
The scenery is stunning and diverse – from deep inside the gorges to the open expansive view from the Razorback and Stokes Hill Lookouts.
The tour includes complimentary picnic lunch and morning tea and returns late afternoon (8 hours).
